Medicare rebates are available for individual therapy sessions with a valid:
GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (GP MHTP) — up to 10 sessions per calendar year. This is the most common plan for psychology services.
GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) — up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year. Please note the rebate for this plan is lower than the GP MHTP.
Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan (EDP) — up to 40 sessions per 12-month plan period. Available for people with a diagnosed eating disorder.
Treatment Plan for Complex Neurodevelopmental Conditions — up to 20 treatment sessions (cumulative lifetime cap). Available for people aged under 25 with a diagnosis of a complex neurodevelopmental condition including autism.
Please speak with your GP about which plan may be relevant to your circumstances. Medicare rebate amounts are indexed annually — current rates can be verified at mbsonline.gov.au.
Medicare rebates — assessments and relationship counselling
Medicare rebates are not available for neurodivergent assessment or relationship counselling services. This is a Medicare rule that applies universally and is not specific to REKNDL Psychology.
Private health insurance
Private health insurance rebates may be available for individual therapy, relationship counselling, and neurodivergent assessment sessions depending on your level of cover. Please check with your insurer prior to commencing. REKNDL Psychology can provide an itemised invoice for this purpose.
Funding types not accepted
REKNDL Psychology does not bulk bill and does not currently accept NDIS, TAC, WorkCover, DVA, EAP, VOCAT, or court-ordered referrals. All services are privately billed.
