About Bec
Rebecca (Bec) Cole (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist and the founder of REKNDL Psychology, based in Richmond, Melbourne.
Bec's approach is deeply collaborative and trauma-informed. She aims to create a space where clients can safely explore their experiences, relationships, and identity — with a particular emphasis on emotional literacy, self-compassion, grief processing, and the capacity to hold complexity. Clinical psychologists provide the sustained therapeutic work that addresses the psychological, emotional, and relational dimensions of a person's experience — work that medication alone does not do.
Bec works integratively, drawing on evidence-based approaches tailored to each person's needs and presentation. Her primary modalities include Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and parts work — alongside Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, Emotionally Focused approaches, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). For relationship counselling, Bec uses Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT; Sue Johnson model).
She has a special interest in working with neurodivergent adults and takes a neurodivergence-affirming approach to both therapy and assessment — offering adult ADHD, autism, and combined ADHD and autism (AuDHD) assessments in Melbourne.
Bec has worked across private practice, community mental health, hospital, youth mental health, and research settings — including at Phoenix Australia (the national centre of excellence in posttraumatic mental health), headspace Hawthorn, and the Royal Children's Hospital. She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology (La Trobe University, Provost's Commendation) and a First Class Honours degree in Psychology (University of Western Australia), for which she received the Australian Psychological Society Prize and the H.L. Fowler Prize.
Bec is also a trauma-informed yoga teacher — an experience that has deepened her understanding of the relationship between body, nervous system, and emotion, and informs how she integrates somatic and body-awareness approaches into her clinical work.
